Accreting Assets ~ 16 January 2013

After I posted my planets around star data last week, I encountered different compilation of exosolar planets in addition to the one I have traditionally used. That survey contends there are 2,740 exosolar planets around 2,036 stars, including a whole new batch just reported requiring confirmation. It surely is a big universe out there.

Seems like a perfect day to bring that up. With Venus conjunct Pluto in Capricorn, I couldn’t think of a better time to count the number of things and heap them into nice piles... such as one might do with personal attributes for instance. Today the Moon in Aries aligns with Uranus and as it does every month, brusquely asks for an assessment of what makes you unique. Moving on into tomorrow the Moon squares Venus and Pluto, demanding an accounting of what you bring to the table. This month the process is dramatically amplified in importance. Acknowledge your assets and accrete augmented attributes.

“Sounds easy, but difficult to execute,” you contend? Not really. Grab a copy of your chart or order a free online basic report. Locate the ease aspects: sextiles, trines, quintiles, possibly conjunctions. Delve into the report’s delineations or check out the classic “Planets in Aspect” by Robert Hand or any book with definitions of your natal patterns. Write down two positive, attributive qualities for each aspect. By the time most folks do this, there should be a starting list of twenty or thirty attributes that can be heaped up into a bio of confidence.

You also want to set yourself apart from others with another set of quirky traits or talents. Go for it. Make a list of how you fancy yourself, or how you’d like to dare to fancy yourself. Sit with that list a spell... a spell meaning well into the current Moon in Aries. In fact, the precise aspect we’re looking to use here is the Moon in Aries conjunct Eris, which occurs at 9:09 A.M., GMT on Friday.

Here you need to intend a course to use your defined eccentricities and desired peculiarities in a way that establishes your uniqueness without conjuring alienation. Create a plan for cultivation of all those oddities that do not yet exist. Pledge to your spirit that you will apply these attributes consciously, and with full intent each time you realize an opportunity to do so.

This way, as the Sun enters Aquarius later this weekend, joining Mercury and Mars in the notoriously quirky, offbeat sign, you can apply your full individuality within the aggregate of humankind with confidence and the assurance that you bring special things to the table just as everyone else does.

There is a curious kind of feeling of lifting in the early part of this year. It feels as if a veil has been lifted, allowing clearer perceptions of destinations ahead or perhaps that the turnpike has risen allowing for passage in previous restricted routes of progress. Presently the Kuiper Belt Object Ixion in Sagittarius, whose upside allows for a second chance from Zeus (Jupiter) himself, stands opposite Ceres in Gemini. Those who advocate for greater causes readily come by second chances. As Yogi Berra once quipped, “When you get the fork in the road, take it,” or so the legend goes. Maybe that’s just how I remember it... you know déjà vu all over again, another Berraisim. Regardless, remember to thank Zeus when he extends a hand and set aside worthiness concerns or doubts about getting another shot at an important goal.

Here’s another thing to consider. Recently, Mars squared Saturn in Scorpio (January 8) and soon Mercury (January 25), the Sun (January 31) and Venus (February 11) follow suit. In as much as Saturn in Scorpio said is reputed to harbor deep emotional memories, should an anxiety-producing circumstance appear to slam the gate on your progress, ask yourself one hugely important question: Are you reacting to this situation with all the consciousness you possess now, or has your system short circuited causing you to respond based upon past memories that hold no relevance now? It is time to apply the “that was then, this is now” doctrine.

Before you know it... as in before month’s end, Jupiter will turn direct. For all those saying you can’t start new projects with Jupiter retrograde (I don’t agree with that contention), it’s time for you to empty your pockets of the scraps of paper upon which resolutions, affirmations, inspirations and good ideas have been written and stuffed away.

More soon.
